Hearing care

Kaiser Permanente audiology

Audiology is a specialty that addresses matters related to hearing and hearing loss. Kaiser Permanente audiologists work closely with our Head and Neck Surgery and Internal Medicine departments by providing hearing tests and evaluations of the middle and inner ear. Kaiser Permanente Hearing Centers sell hearing aids and custom-made earplugs for hearing protection, music, and swimming.

Why choose Kaiser Permanente?

A complete health care experience

When you trust your hearing care to Kaiser Permanente, you’ll have the confidence of knowing that your entire care team is working together in your best interest. Your audiologist is connected to your primary care doctor and specialists through your electronic health record, so whether you just need a routine hearing evaluation or have a hearing-related concern to address, your audiologist will have a full picture of your overall health and medical history.

Kaiser Permanente audiologists tailor your needs accordingly and provide supportive, holistic hearing care to members of all ages, delivered with sensitivity and compassion.

Cost savings on hearing devices

In addition to comprehensive services, you’ll find that devices offered by Kaiser Permanente are often priced up to 25-40% less than those offered by other hearing centers in the DC metro region.

Both diagnostic and hearing aid services are offered in Kaiser Permanente’s coordinated approach to care.

Diagnostic services

When you need hearing support, a licensed audiologist will perform a complete diagnostic test, or combination of tests, to determine the extent of your hearing loss. This will assist in determining the treatment that works best for you, including a hearing aid device if needed.

Hearing aid services

Following your evaluation, your audiologist will determine if you’re a good candidate for hearing aids and will discuss with you how to manage your hearing loss. Your audiologist will review the options with you to select the right device for you.
